agroNET is a set of turnkey IoT-based solutions for improvement of modern agricultural production. The solutions are designed to provide intelligent data insights giving timely feedback and recommendations to the end user based on the output of domain specific data analytics tools that use information obtained from micro and macro data sources as the input.

2. How agroNET works?

The core of agroNET is a library of digital agriculture enablers, packaged into interoperable modules deployed on the cloud and accessible via APIs. These modules represent embedded models of soil, water, crops, etc. which take real-time field measurements like soil moisture, weather forecast, drone and satellite images, insect counting, machinery working conditions, cost and benefits of chemical crop protection products as well as domain specific data analytics procedures to predict relevant events in the field and provide adequate recommendations on which agriculture measures to undertake and how to do them. The toolset is rounded up with web and mobile applications enabling out of the box experience.

Data is stored on Microsoft Azure cloud, a highly reliable and secure platform. Before storing, all private data is encrypted.


1. How many devices should be used per ha?

We recommend 1-3 device equipped with sensors for one irrigation system. This also depends on the field configuration and the type of irrigation system.

2. When is the best time to install devices?

Devices should be installed few weeks before the start of the irrigation period.

3. How many sensors should be used?

It depends on crop type. Usually, 2 sensors placed at different depth are enough.

4. How deep should sensors be installed?

It depends on plant species. Sensors should be installed in root zone. At the beginning of vegetation, this zone is usually at 10-20 cm for arable crops and vegetables and later at 30-40 cm.

5. What time is needed for ROI?

Return of investment is 1-2 years for installations on fields of 10ha or more.

6. What type of crops is this service for?

irrigNET helps in optimizing irrigation of arable crops, vegetables, fruits and in vineyards.

7. Is SIM card included?

Depending on the arrangement with our local partner, a SIM card can be provided or you can source it locally. In any case, guidelines in regard to the data plan are provided.

1. How many traps should be used per ha?

One trap per 1-5 ha of vineyards or orchards, like as the common delta pheromone delta pheromone traps. Exact number depends on the field configuration.

2. What type of pests is trapNET for?

This service could be used for the pests that are commonly monitored by using delta type of pheromone traps. It is recommended to use highly selective pheromones.

3. What is the main benefit that the traps provide?

The smart traps provide real-time insights in sticky plates with caught insects. This saves time and money (farmers don’t have to visit each trap every day), allows users to apply insecticides on time and to control the number of pests.

4. How often pheromone and sticky plate should be replaced?

Pheromone should be replaced every 4-6 weeks (depends on the producer) and sticky plate should be replaced when it is full (this depends on pest species, environmental conditions…)

5. Is it possible to locate each trap?

Yes, the trap is easily located as it comes with built-in GPS receiver.

6. Are pheromones included?

No, users should purchase pheromones by themselves. We recommend high-selective pheromones.

7. Is SIM card included?

Depending on the arrangement with our local partner, a SIM card can be provided or you can source it locally. In any case, guidelines in regard to the data plan are provided.
