This empowers farmers to take better decisions, allowing them to harness the full value of their own data and knowledge as well as those shared with others. DEMETER project has been funded by the European Commission with a primary focus on driving the digital transformation of the agri-food sector to benefit farmers and the industry as a whole. Creating a new master system to incorporate others is not feasible due to scalability and governance issues. DEMETER'S DEMETER takes an overarching approach, integrating heterogeneous technologies and supporting fluid data exchange across the agrifood chain. Within the DEMETER project, various services and platforms were delivered: Agricultural Interoperability Space (AIS), Brokerage Service Environment (BSE), DEMETER Agriculture Information Model — AIM), DEMETER Enabler Hub (DEH), Stakeholders Open Collaboration Space (SOCS), and Access Control System (ACS). DEMETER Pilots

The DEMETER pilot projects, implemented across 18 European countries, were utilized to demonstrate and evaluate the benefits of interoperability mechanisms for innovations and extended capabilities.
